Candle Statistics 2019 – 2025

The following values of goods are not the values actually realized when sold to the end-‎consumers, but the values when sold to the wholesale.‎

The consumption of candles decreased slightly to approx. 836.300 tons in 2025 (-1,3 %, -11.000 tons), but the value of the consumed candles decreased more significantly to approx. 1.821 million EUR (-7,1 %, -139 million EUR). Each citizen of the European Union ‎consumed an average of 1,86 kg of candles (-1,6 %), corresponding to a wholesale ‎price of 4,04 EUR (-7,3 %).‎

The domestic candle production stayed at practically the same level of 757.800 tons (+0,06 %, +440 tons). ‎Approx. 82.000 tons were exported which is a significant decrease of -8,0 % or -7.100 tons compared to ‎the previous year. The imports decreased significantly as well to approx. 160.500 tons (-10,3 %, ‎‎-18.500 tons).
