EU publishes definitive anti-dumping duties on candle imports from China
The European Commission has published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/157 imposing definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of candles, tapers and the like originating in the People’s Republic of China (Official Journal publication: 26 January 2026).
Timing
The definitive duties apply from 27 January 2026 and are expected to remain in place until 26 January 2031 (at least).

Practical points for members

The duties apply to all candles, including outdoor candles, birthday candles, party candles, number candles, etc.

The duty is calculated on the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty and is paid by the importer.

The duty also applies to imports routed via a third country (e.g., the UK or Switzerland) when entering the EU.
